Coast Mountains School District would like to share the following leadership staffing updates for the 2024-2025 school year:
Jane Arbuckle
Currently serving as Principal at Caledonia Secondary School, for personal reasons Jane has decided to leave Caledonia effective July 31, 2024. In September, Jane will be returning to teaching students in the district. Our thanks are extended to Jane for her years of service in school administration in Coast Mountains School District, and we wish her continued success in the future.
Keith Axelson
Currently the Principal of Parkside Secondary School, Keith will be returning to Caledonia Secondary School as Principal effective August 1, 2024. With 20 years of school administration experience in Coast Mountains School District, Keith is a passionate, community minded educator with a collaborative style that keeps learners at the centre. Keith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching certification from Simon Fraser University, and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern British Columbia.
Jaclyn Wells
Currently the Vice Principal at Caledonia Secondary School, Jaclyn will assume the position of Principal at Parkside Secondary School effective August 1, 2024. Jaclyn has been a long-time Principal in the district, serving in this role at Kitwanga Elementary School between 2012-2023. This past year she served as both Vice Principal and Indigenous Graduation Advisor at Caledonia, building strong relationships with learners, families and staff and supporting learner success. Jaclyn, herself with Haisla, Gitxsan and Ts’msyen ancestry, has a deep respect for diverse cultures and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Education Degree from University of British Columbia, and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Vancouver Island University.
